SPECIAL BOARD MEETING reported by Merv W6IUVA special board meeting was held on 10-18-73 to discuss plans for a special commemoration activity for the MVM73 mission. Merv introduced Dr. Charles Weir, W6UM, who will be coordinating the affair. The board voted to support the effort unanimously with members Burnett, Ulrich, Bastow and MacMedan present and voting.
Chuck will come out with a project plan describing what we hope to accomplish for the commemoration, and how. It will require establishing a 2nd operating position at W6VIO and will include a special event station operation from the Boeing Employees Amateur Radio Society, K7NWS.

All contacts were made on SSB from 1430-1545Z and 1830-2000Z and from March of this year to the present. It is interesting that DA1WK was running identical equipment to ours. When he turned off his linear, the drop in his signal strength was almost unnoticeable.

NEWS FLASH from Merv W6IUVIrv Emig, our only 2-letter man (W6GC) retired from the lab on Sept 1st, somewhat earlier than planned. Irv is an avid DXCC'er, is on RTTY and is on VHF mobile. Good luck Irv, but please don't stay away--come back for frequent eye-ball QSO's.
We thought we had lost our only 2-letter call but we were informed that Member Chuck Ueir, W6HOH just got his shiny new 2-letter call job, W6UM. Chuck is also an avid DXCC'er! Best wishes to you Chuck.
